NCAA Swimming Championships Recap- A Season to Remember

The 2025 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships had everything. Close races, big surprises, and some of the fastest swims we’ve ever seen.

From Division I to Division III, teams showed what hard work, teamwork, and smart training can do. If you love this sport—whether you’re a swimmer, coach, or fan—this one’s for you.

Division I: Big Names, Big Moments

The University of Virginia women and University of Texas mencame in strong—and delivered. Their teams were locked in and ready. They didn’t just win, they made a statement.
  • Can’t-Miss Moment: Kate Douglass crushed the 200 IM. It wasn’t just fast—it was unforgettable.
  • One to Watch: NC State’s men lit up the relays with some of the fastest swims all weekend.
But it wasn’t only about medals. It was about how these teams prepared, how they stayed focused, and how they backed each other up.

Division II: Hungry and Ready

D2 swimmers came to race. And they showed they belong on the big stage.
  • Top Teams: University of Indianapolis and Drury battled it out in nearly every session. Their energy was electric.
  • Surprise Star: A freshman from Colorado Mesa shocked everyone with a gold in the 200 fly. The whole place went wild.
These teams proved that you don’t need a huge program to do something big. You just need the right mix of heart and hustle.

Division III: All Passion, No Shortcuts

D3 swimming is pure. No scholarships. No spotlight. Just athletes giving everything they’ve got.
  • Rivalry of the Meet: Kenyon and Emory went head-to-head. Every race was tight. Every point mattered.
  • Record Breaker: A junior from MIT broke the national D3 record in the 100 back. One of the best swims of the meet—at any level.

D3 teams reminded us that success comes from showing up every day and doing the work, no matter what the budget looks like.

What We Learned

No matter the division, the best teams all had a few things in common:
  • They were organized.
  • They had clear goals.
  • They knew how to work together.

It wasn’t just about swimming fast. It was about having systems that kept everyone on track and a team culture that lifted everyone up.
